Gift ideas for Mothers Day

Mother's Day falls on Sunday 14th March this yearIf, like me, you often struggle to find the perfect gift for your loved ones, I hope this list below might give you some inspiration.  I'm making an real effort to be more sustainable and so I've compiled a list of local (mostly) experience gifts which are a bit different, a bit fun and a lot local!

1. Photo shoot gift voucher from Georgina Edwards Photography

Would the Mum in your life LOVE a family photo session?  One where she's in the pictures?  Or maybe one with her and the grandchildren?  Gift vouchers are available for session fees or full packages.  She might also love a 30 minute bluebell photography session.  Covid allowing I will run these sessions at the end of April/beginning of May 2021 - find out more here.

2. A Spa Day – Ashdown Park

What Mum wouldn’t LOVE a relaxing day at a spa?  Ashdown Park in Ashdown Forest is the perfect escape from the day to day rollercoaster of working and parenting.  Just 20 minutes from Tunbridge Wells, an oasis of calm and tranquility awaits....

3. Go Ape at Bedgebury Pinetum

This might not be for every Mum, but if you know someone who likes a bit of adventure and they have a head for heights, this is a REALLY fun experience. I was gifted a Go Ape experience for a significant birthday recently, and I LOVED every second of it.  If you know an adventurous Mum, she will love this different and unique experience!

4. Annual Pass to Bedgebury Pinetum

While we’re on the subject of Bedgebury Pinetum, you really can’t go wrong with an annual pass to this fabulous place.  Covering 320 acres of forest, woodland and parkland, there are a wealth of options to please every Mum; from quiet dog walks and gossipy girly jogging sessions, to boistrous days out with the kids and tasty treats in the cafe, I can't imagine a mum - young or old - who wouldn't love an annual membership to Bedgebury.

5. Cheese Making Course - High Weald Dairy

If you have a cheese loving Mum in the family, I’m sure she would be delighted with the chance to have a tour of the High Weald Dairy and taste their locally made chesses.  Near Horsted Keynes in West Sussex, once they are able to open again after lockdown, she can enjoy a lovely day out finding out how cheeses are made!

10. A day out at a National Trust Site

OK, so this isn’t strictly local in the same sense, but we are lucky in the south east to have a large choice of National Trust sites to visit.  My family membership is renewed each year and we never tire of visiting Scotney Castle, Sheffield Park, Ightam Mote or Knole Park – to name a few in the local area. In previous years, various sites have offered special Mother's Day activities such as a lovely sounding Prosecco Tea; keep an eye on the website to see if they are able to offer these in 2021 if Covid lockdowns are lifted.  Either way, a (pre-booked) walk through any National Trust garden is heavenly on Mother's Day.
