A day trip to Lullingstone Country Park

During these last few weeks of school summer holidays, we have been all over the place!  We've been to the library, the beach, spent hours in our local playground, gone on lovely walks, had countless picnics, swum, played and tried to keep busy!!!  Having visited most of my usual go-to places, I felt the need to go somewhere new and different.  So I fired up google maps and simply had a look around the local area for anywhere that I hadn't tried before.  My eyes settled on Lullingstone Country Park.  It's only about 30 minutes from Tunbridge Wells, so we piled into the car on a beautiful sunny afternoon and headed off.

The car park has space for 100 cars and parking is charged at £1.50 on weekdays and £2.50 for weekends and bank holidays.  Not bad for a car of four people!  There is a small playground suitable for kids up to about 6 or 7 years of age, as well as the visitor centre selling small gifts, a cafe (which we didn't try this time) and toilets.

And then there are the 460 acres of country park!  At the time of writing, there are various activities running during the summer holidays (pond dipping, mini beast hunts, summer trails, geochaching), but it's a great spot for picnicing, exploring and relaxing if you just fancy doing your own thing.

Take a look at some other lovely places in mid-Kent to go for a family outing....
