Valentine's Drinks Gifts

for Lockdown Lovers 

Let's face it, Valentine's Day 2021 isn't exactly going to be the most romantic of dates this year is it?  But, just because restaurants and shops are closed, doesn't mean that you can't find the perfect, romantic gift to give (receive!) this year.......(I am aware that the majority of my followers are fellow Mums, so I suggest you leave the page to your preferred gift open on your computer/tablet/smart phone for your other half to stumble across and be inspired to buy for you!!!).

I've (virtually) trawled the local Kent and East Sussex distilleries and wineries to find the most luxurious wine and spirit gifts available for you this Valentine's Day.  I can definitely imagine snuggling down with one (or all, let's not be stingy!!) of the gifts suggestions below.

Kingscote Estate is a great place for a day out anyway (when restrictions allow) with great estate walks and scenery, a fishing lake and tours and tasting events.  They have a number of Valentine's offerings this year, but my favourite is the "Be My Valentine" hamper!  In the hamper you will find a delicious bottle of 2019 rose brut, a tour and tasting voucher for two, a wonderfully romantic candle, handmade truffles and to top it all, an organza bag of dried rose petals!  

Not far from Tenterden, Biddenden Vineyard boasts a wonderful shop offering all sorts of delicious local and British produce as well as their wonderful home grown wines, ciders and juices.  For Valentine's Day they have teamed up with Truffle's at Coco in Tenterden to give you delicious white chocolate and raspberry truffles accompanied by sparkling rose.  Heaven!

Situated on the beautiful East Sussex hillside outside Alfriston, Rathfinny Estate is a picturesque vineyard producing a number of very delicious wines (I may have taste tested a few in the past!).  This Valentine's Day they are offering a very scrumptious selection box of goodies including their 2017 Sparkling Rosé, cheese biscuits, chutney, olives, charcuterie and some delicious confectionery from The Chocolate Society.

Based over in Marden, Herbert Hall Winery are offering a very tempting cake and fizz combo.  Treat your loved one or yourself to a half bottle of Herbert Hall Brut and a selection of freshly baked goodies which comprise two cakesicles, two cake hearts, two biscuits and a cake bar. Cakes are available in White chocolate or Dark chocolate.

On the edge of Ashdown Forest, between Crowborough and Haywards Heath, the Bluebell Vineyard produce award winning sparkling and still wine to rival the french masters.  They are splashing out this Valentine's Day, offering you a fabulous (proper) basket hamper filled with award winning sparkly, truffles, some posh glasses to drink from AND, once lockdown is finally over, a Tasting for Two at the estate.

A little further afield from Tunbridge Wells, the Copper Rivet Distillery over in Chatham seem to be very much along my wave length with this pretty special Valentine's Day Gift Hamper.  If you have a bit of a sweet tooth and like a G&T after a hard day of working and home schooling, then this will probably get you drooling!  This hamper includes a 20cl bottle of Dockyard Gin, a dark chocolate & strawberry sharing 'slab', homemade chocolate truffles, giant retro “love heart” sweets, florentines, gummy sweets, fudge AND some gin & tonic tea!

Not a winery or distillery, but just as wonderful, The Zero Waste Company based in the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells have a gorgeous little Valentine's offering this year. Featuring locally made Dolly Mix Gin and chocolate cupcakes for two delivered in a bio-degradable box, there is no reason to say to no to this.
