On the blog today….

The Autumn of 2021 saw the Tunbridge Wells Puppetry Festival take over our town.  As part of the festivities, The Museum Of The Moon came to Calverley Grounds.  It was a truly spectacular installation & was hugely popular with the local residents of Tunbridge Wells.

Check out the photographs I took on the opening night at this beautiful open air art gallery…

An Unexpected Treat

When I visited, I didn’t really have much of an idea of what to expect.  But when I arrived I was astounded.  IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!  Measuring 7 meters in diameter it completely took my breath away!  It was accompanied by a moving sound installation composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones.

I returned again on the second night, kids in tow, and it was wonderful to see most of Tunbridge Wells had come out to have a look too!  Blessed with dry and mild weather, Calverley Grounds was a Mecca for local families enjoying this wonderful spectacle.

Whilst it was a fleeting visit to Tunbridge Wells, The Museum Of The Moon has been touring the world since 2016.  And it continues to do so (there are several iterations touring the world at once).  If you missed it this time, click here to find out where it plans to tour over the next few months (Covid allowing).
