Photo Gift Ideas
It’s that time of year when time seems to speed up and there is never enough time to get ‘All The Things’ done! Quite apart from all the school Christmas discos, teacher gifts, lunches, and charity fund raisers, there is so much to think about and remember. Getting through the family gift list and researching, ordering and wrapping everything in time for The Big Day is a giant challenge in itself!
Here, I’ve compiled a list of great photo gift ideas that Aunts, Uncles, Godparents, Grandparents and Besties will love to receive. Whether you go for individual pictures of the kids, a cute furry friend portrait or big family gathering shot, a photo gift has a lasting legacy that will continue to bring joy, long after the decorations have come down.
Items 1 – 3 on my list are all products you can order through me if you’ve had a photoshoot with me in the last couple of years and never quite got round to putting your gorgeous family memories up on the wall or into a tangible keepsake.
Items 4 – 11 are great photo gift ideas that I’ve either tried myself or would like to!
1. Canvas Tray Frame
One of my favourite products, which hangs on a wall in my home, is a canvas tray frame. This canvas is not hidden behind glass which removes any chance of light causing reflections and detracting from your beautiful portrait. The surrounding frame makes any image really stand out on your wall.
2. Multi-aperture Frame
Another favourite of mine and one I also have on my wall at home, the multi-aperture frame is a great option if you’ve had a family shoot recently and would like to showcase a number of your images in one place. Various layouts are available but whichever one you fancy, this is a really impressive, quality piece of wall art that will proudly display your lovely portraits for years to come.
3. Classic Coffee Table book
A new product that I will be offering in 2023 is a Photo Book/Photo Album. This hard back, 20 page book with one of your images wrapped around the front cover is the perfect product to keepsake your gallery of memories that can looked at again and again.

4. Snowflake tree decoration
One of my Christmas traditions is to add a Christmas tree decoration to our collection from one of the places we have visited during the year as a family. Over the years, there has been a beautiful glass sweet from Malta, a silver shamrock from Ireland, an elephant pendant from India and many other memories which make our tree unique to us! When the kids came along, we travelled less and so instead of adding holiday memories to the tree, I started to add family memories instead. I love a Christmas bauble (and I have a few of these now!), but this year I am adding a personalised snowflake photo decoration from Sim Lab. These are great little gifts for Grandparents and Godparents, so I will be ordering a few!
5. Photo Calendar
Personalise photo calendars are such a lovely way to look back on memories from the previous year. I make one for each of the grandmas every Christmas and they love turning over each month and see a new image of the grandkids. I have used Photo Box for a number of years and have been very impressed by the quality of the product and the easy of designing and ordering. They also run lots of excellent sales so worth keeping an eye on their website for great deals in the run up to Christmas.
6. Photo Keyring
There is always someone in the family who is difficult to buy for. I always think something like a personalised photo keyring is an excellent solution which provides a gift that is actually quite useful, but also memorable and personal! My Photo Keyrings have a HUGE variety of options from the very simple to the intricate and detailed. Check them out here.
7. Personalised Photo Flowerpots
Have a green fingered plant lover on your list? I absolutely love this idea as it is so unique and will bring so much joy!
8. Photo Jigsaw
If you and your family are puzzle fans, then this is such a brilliant Christmas gift idea. Christmas is the one time of the year that we drag out a good old 1000 piece jigsaw and spend a number of days dipping in and out and then rushing to get it finished before everyone heads home again! Having a jigsaw with a lovely family memory is even more special!
I’m not sure anyone can ever have enough mugs – and I know lots of people have their ‘favourite’ – the one they use 99% of the time. Why not make it a super special favourite mug by personalising it with a lovely family memory.
Increase your gift giving kudos by adding personalised photo coasters so that, not only will your friends and family have lovely memories on their surfaces, but those surfaces will also be protected from water marks!!
10. Personalise phone or tablet case
Everyone’s got a phone! But not everyone has a sensible phone case to protect it from drops and knocks. The number of times my phone case has saved my screen from a shattering, is countless. Give the gift of personalised phone protection in the form of a photo phone case which will bring smiles each and every time the recipient gets their phone out!
11. Xmas Bauble
I love a Christmas bauble and as I mentioned earlier, I have a number of them already. This is a bauble with a difference. Instead of being spherical, it is actually flat, so it takes up much less room on your tree! And is a really lovely modern twist on the traditional tree decoration. These look great with individual portraits, so are an ideal gift idea for Grandparents!
So there are my 11 great photo gift ideas to give you some inspiration. If you’ve any other photo gift ideas you have tried and love, do let me know in the comments. I would love to share them!
