Personal Brand Photography in Kent

It was lovely to be recommended to Susan by a previous client of mine, Nat Sharp of Sharp Thinking Marketing.  Having seen my work, Susan felt I would be a good match to capture images for her relaunching website.  Susan is a highly trained business voice coach, helping individuals and groups to understand and use the human voice to succeed in the new world of work.

The Brief

Susan was in need of a range of images at her home office and in her garden at home.  The images needed to visually represent the important work that Susan does; showcasing her professionalism and strength, whilst also capturing her warmth and approachability.  She has some distinct brand colours, so it was key that we incorporated these, or at the very least, compliment those colours within the images we took.

The Challenge

A lot of Susan’s work is carried out via zoom in her home office.    Whilst Susan is a ‘voice coach’, her training develops mindset and body language as well as speech and so we needed to find a way to represent how she achieves this, which can be challenging using still – rather than moving – images.  It’s key to create set ups that are engaging to the viewer, are not bland or ‘samey’ and if there are no other people in the images to add variety, the session requires great communication to creatively find solutions which fit the brief.

The Solution

Having a pre-shoot consultation with Susan enabled her to get to know me briefly and when we met in person at the shoot, we were able to build on that relationship so that Susan was relaxed in front of the camera.  She felt comfortable to smile naturally so we could capture authentic moments – and have fun while doing it!  We mocked-up a ‘zoom call’ using a jpg of 9 stock image faces to pop onto her computer screen so that we could easily recreate how a coaching session might look.  Using different angles, outfits, props and locations around the house and gardens, I was able to provide a gallery of images that Susan can use across her social platforms and on her re-launched website, maintaining and increasing her visibility, creating credibility and showing off her unique business and self.

What did Susan have to say?

“Georgina is a joy to work with. Professional, meticulous and funny, she quickly got me relaxed and into what proved to be a wonderful photo shoot experience.  Don’t hesitate to hire her. She’ll do a fab job!”
