Founder of Sharp Thinking Marketing, Nat Sharp asked me to create some imagery for her business providing outsourced marketing support for small businesses.
Nat has a wealth of experience working both for marketing agencies as well as client side, developing award winning marketing strategies. She has a natural passion for marketing which comes across the moment you meet her!
Nat wanted a selection of shots which would be light and bright and be universally useful across blogs on her website & social media channels, as well as needing some updated headshots. She needed the images to reflect her brand proposition and values; ‘professional – whilst down to earth, practical – whilst based on real insights’. With my mission nicely defined, I headed over to meet Nat at Sharp Thinking Marketing HQ, her home office in Tunbridge Wells.
It’s rare that I am able to visit a clients’ home prior to a shoot, so on arrival, I always look out for any issues with light or space. Nat has a lovely bright home office, but it faces south. Thus I needed to consider the bright sunshine pouring in through the glass doors during the middle of the day. We wanted the images to look natural and unstaged, so it was important for me to build up a natural rapport with Nat; I wanted to ensure she was relaxed in front of the camera. We also wanted to incorporate the right mix of branding into the shots to leave a subtle sense of Nat’s company identity and brand colours using limited props.
The final result was a mixture of indoor and outdoor images for Nats’ headshots, balanced with a selection of practical shots, subtly integrating her brand, which Nat can use universally across her website, social channels and in her own marketing.
What did Nat have to say?
“Georgina was patient and reassuring, and instantly put me at ease. She knew exactly how to get the perfect shot for me, combining both indoor and outdoor landscapes, using a mix of props and a variety of styles to capture my business. I would definitely recommend Georgina to anyone looking for a talented photographer.”
