Tower Bridge
night photography
Every now and then, I like to book a little bit of ‘me’ time. I take myself off, with my camera in tow, and get creative – just for me. On my most recent project, I headed up to London and the banks of the River Thames, to capture one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, Tower Bridge, at night.
There are various access points to the river bank of the Thames in Central London. You need to check the tide times in advance to make sure there will be some river bank to access, but otherwise it’s free and easy to go exploring. This access point is just next to Tower Bridge and there is, roughly, a couple of hundred yards of muddy and uneven terrain either side of the bridge.
Having spent an hour or so on the banks of the river, I then headed up onto Tower Bridge itself. Unfortunately, the weather was rapidly turning very wintry, so I didn’t linger too long. Just long enough to get a few light trails and some interesting angles of the architecture of the bridge.
