This is me; Georgina Edwards – commercial and family photographer – story teller and memory maker
My Story
I can’t actually remember getting my first camera. It might have been a present for my 13th birthday. But whenever and however I got it, I just know that since the summer of 1989, I have wonderful moments of random, important and memorable days documented in glossy 6x4s in many, many photo albums.
Life before children
Prior to getting married and having kids, I had another life in TV. I sort of fell into sports production and then into lifestyle programming (I worked on the first couple of series of Homes Under the Hammer!) before finally ending up in documentaries. It was all hugely enjoyable; but once I had a family, I found that the juggle of kids and commuting sapped my love of TV production.
Now
And so I decided to direct that creative urge towards something else; and hence my commercial and family photography business was born over a decade ago now; I would never have convinced my younger self that I would end up having two careers that I would enjoy so much.
It is a source of great pride that I am an award winning photographer with both the Guild Of Photographers and The Societies of Photographers.
